Last Lotto 6/49 Millionaire of 2020 will be a British Columbian citizen

The last lotto 6/49 millionaire is still unknown. Lottery tickets are always fan favorites, but the end of the year saw a spike in purchases of both instant tickets and draw-based lotteries, as individuals were hoping to end 2020 — a particularly hard year for everyone — on a high note. This certainly came true for a British Columbia resident who became eligible for a cash payout of CA$9.34 million thanks to the last Lotto 6/49 draw of the year.

The last few days of the year always tend to bring with them a feeling of hopefulness and new, better beginnings for the new year. Inviting and attracting good fortune is one reason why people are more willing to participate in lotteries and other gambling activities, this year even more so with many wanting to leave 2020 behind and embark on a new year filled with love, happiness, and success. British Columbia Lottery Corporation recently announced that a winner hailing from the province was going to see the New Year as a brand new millionaire. The winning ticket was bought from the West Vancouver region before the 30 December draw, which was the last one for 2020.

The last lotto 6/49 millionaire ticket-holder has 52 weeks from the draw to claim his prize before it expires at the end of 2021. As of yet, no one has contacted the Crown corporation to say that they are the winners of the multi-million cash reward. With such a hefty sum, the reason could be that the winner is taking their time to process the news about the huge windfall. What we know so far is that the numbers drawn in this Lotto 6/49 lottery were 7, 14, 30, 32, 38, 45 and the bonus number, 6. The ticket had to match the six main numbers in order to bag the main prize of CA$9,342,568.90, and it resulted that the ticket sold in West Vancouver was just the right match.

Just in case the prize has not yet been claimed because the ticket-owner has not realized that they are in possession of the winning ticket, the Crown corporation is reminding the people of British Columbia to check their purses, pockets and drawers for any misplaced tickets. As for other hefty prizes for the December 30 draw, two tickets matched five of the main prizes, as well as the bonus one, resulting in a cash payout of CA$110,803.10 for each of the winners.

January 2 saw the first Lotto 6/49 draw for 2021. All eyes are were on it as ticket-purchasers are hopeful that they will be the ones starting the year by winning the main prize of about CA$5 million. Making the lottery even more enthusing is the chance to win the single guaranteed CA$1 million prize.

British Columbia Lottery Corporation is aware of how important the holidays are, especially in 2020 which was a hard year for everyone, both financially and otherwise. The BCLC also had its fair share of problems during 2020 being accused of turning a blind eye to dirty money. During the holidays, many people look for comfort in what they know, and some may even want to give the gift of chance and opportunity to their loved ones. The Crown corporation once again launched the #GiftSmart program at the beginning of December, reminding British Columbians that instant lottery tickets do not make appropriate presents for children.
