Athletics – World Championships

Athletics – World Championships

If you are looking for a couple of interesting competitions to get into this week, you are in luck because there are some great options.

When it comes to big-name championships, the IAAF does not immediately come to a lot people’s minds, but that fact should definitely change. The Athletics World Championships that will take place in London this year is going to be jam packed with some of the best athletes in the world. On the road to the competition, there have already been some incredible, game-changing moments that are going to make history.

From Stahl breaking the Swedish record for the discus event, to Van Niekerk’s 300m, to the waves being made by the incredibly fast Sani Brown, there is not going to be one event in this championship that doesn’t offer something interesting.

US PGA Championship

The PGA Championship for 2017 will be held between August 7th and 13th at the Quail Hollow Club in North Carolina. It goes without saying that this is a huge event and there are many great reasons to pay attention to the championship as it unfolds.

One reason to watch is that the reigning champion, Jimmy Walker, is going to be defending his title as hard as he possibly can. There are plenty of top players looking to take his place, though, so it is likely to be a riveting match. Some names to watch out for that have a chance at taking Walker’s spot are; Jason Day, Jason Dufner, Keegan Bradley, Y.E. Yang, Woods, Vijay Singh, Mark Brooks, and many others. Each of these players is brilliant and can easily hold their own, which means that this US PGA showdown is going to be very interesting.

Premier League 2017/18

For all the football fans out there, the Premier League is upon us. Starting on the 12th of August, we are in for another round of great football. Chelsea has taken the last two of three Premier League championships, but many people believe that they will not be able to hold on to their current title. Manchester United is always a tough competitor as well as Arsenal. There are a few other clubs playing this year that look like they are going to make a difference, so it’ll be important to keep an eye on them. Teams like Liverpool, Manchester City, Southampton, and Tottenham Hotspur are all looking strong this year.
