Dead or Alive Casino Game10th Nov 2016 |
An upbeat high tempo game set in the Wild West of America, Dead or Alive is set at the very beginning of the 20th Century. Designed by Net Entertainment, the production has been pushed to the fullest, incorporating music, sound effects and stunning backdrops fully embracing this time period. Now it is recognized as a classic from this software producer, and has even earned a little bit of a cult status amongst gamers.
A five reel, nine payline casino game, the reels are set up on a wooden noticeboard similar to those seen in those frontier towns of old, usually bearing the face of an outlaw and numerous bullet holes. Coin size can range from only 0.01 up to 0.5, with a minimum of 1 coin per line and a maximum of only 4, making this a very easy game to start with in the casino game world. Continuing the cowboy theme, the lower value card symbols, 10, J, Q, K and Ace are all artfully written in a script reminiscent of Old West calligraphy. The high values are represented by a ten-gallon hat, sheriff badge, glass of whisky, a holstered gun and cowboy boots. A wanted poster stands for the wild icon, and the scatter is a set of crossed pistols that causes the bonus feature to be activated.
Dead or Alive Bonus Games
The free spins constitute the main bonus element of this game. These occur when three of the crossed pistols land on any of the reels. The bonus game is started, and is comprised of twelve free spins and a multiplier of 2x. Whilst the bonus round can actually start off rather slowly, it does become worth it in the long run, as when each wild or wanted poster pops up, it stays in place for the whole duration of the spins and therefore become what is known as Sticky Wilds. There are in fact five different wanted posters throughout the bonus game, each of which displays a different Wild West outlaw. If you can manage to get a wanted poster on each reel during the round, then there are five extra spins awarded, but this scenario will only happen the one time.
In general, this is a fast paced, delightful little casino game. Even though there are only nine paylines, this game appears to produce a greater chance of earnings from the bonus round, and can in fact garner higher earnings than many games with more base paylines. In fact, it is possible to end up making nearly 2000 times the original stake when playing with the Sticky Wilds in the free spins round. It should be noted though, that the free spins feature can take a lot of previous earnings with no guaranteed rewards. The whole setting is also excellently put together, truly creating the vibe of a western saloon, complete with piano and gunshot sound effects throughout play, and which only serve to enhance the overall game play experience.
