Fuchs for three more years, Arsenal crushed Ludogorets, Manchester City’s big loss21st Oct 2016 |
Fuchs for three more years – Odubajo out
Leicester City has decided to keep their defender, Christian Fuchs, for three more years – more precisely until June 2019 – and the player has now signed the contract. As Leicester won the last season’s Premier League, Fuchs made a total of 32 appearances. They are currently at 13th place on this season’s Premier League table. Fuchs joined Leicester City in 2015 from Schalke.
As for Hull City’s defender, Moses Odubajo, the immediate future does not look too good. He recently suffered his second knee injury this season, and chances are he will miss the whole season. He fractured a kneecap during training, and the injury is so severe that it requires surgery, which is scheduled next week. He has made good progress with his last injury, in which he dislocated his kneecap. Odubajo is a solid player, and one can only hope that Hull City’s place on the table won’t get affected in a bad way by this unfortunate event. Hull are going to host Stoke this Saturday, and this is really a match to look forward to.
Arsenal in Champions League
Arsenal is currently the leading team in Champions League’s Group A, with a total of 7 points on the table. They played against the Bulgarian team Ludogorets Razgrad this Wednesday, and they pretty much crushed them. The result ended up being 6-0 to Arsenal, after golden goals from Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Mesut Ozil – the latter claiming his career’s first hat-trick. Arsenal has won seven games in a row, eleven unbeaten games in total, with 23 goals. This last victory means Arsenal has reached the top of their group, ahead of Paris St-Germain.Manchester City big loss in Champions League
Manchester City is at a current 2nd place in Group C, with their last match against Barcelona ending with a huge win in favour to the latter – 4-0. There is a total of 5 points between the two teams in the group’s table now, which is not a good thing to our English team. Manchester City were strong during the first half of the game, but they made too many errors in this important match, as Barcelona were ruthless especially with the great Messi’s return from his injury. Manchester City had to play with only 10 men on the court, which certainly did not go well for them, and Barcelona also got reduced to 10 men after Mathieu received a second yellow card – but by the time the team was even in census, it was too late for our friends. Barcelona has had a 100% start in the group, and this match was no exception.
Our remaining hopes in the Champions League are Leicester and Tottenham, who are currently at 1st and 2nd place in their groups.
