Lenny’s Bet of the Day: Iceland-Hungary18th Jun 2016 |
For some years now we’ve been used to seeing Iceland charming their way into the world of football with very good performances against much stronger opposition. The most notable win, by far, was against Netherlands in the qualification round. Hungary, on the other hand, is a team who’s not done anything extraordinary to reach the Euros. While Iceland was in the same qualification group as Turkey, Netherlands and Czech Republic, Hungary was in a group that was won by Northern Ireland and Romania. Hungary reached the Euros by facing Norway – by far the weakest team they could face. Iceland knows how to act on occasions when they have all the eyes of the home country on them, and we can see how they enjoy it and thrive on both the support and pressure. But Hungary doesn’t concede many goals, and they’ll be very defensive in this game.
Bet on Iceland to win with few goals.
