Today’s Fixture – France-Germany

France-Germany is one of the biggest rivalries of European national team football, so we can expect a very intense game between players who will be prepared to do everything for their team today.

Looking at the squads, we can see that France has a small advantage from the fact that all their players are available for this match, with no injuries or suspensions to report. Germany is lacking three very good players in Hummels, Khedira and Gomez. One player in each position out is very bad news for them.

It’ll be interesting to see if Germany can keep their fantastic defensive record up against France today. They have only conceded one goal so far, but most of the top scorers of the tournament are French: Antoine Griezmann leads with four goals, followed by Olivier Giroud and Dimitri Payet with three goals each. If France has the offensive advantage, then Germany has the defensive advantage. Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is the most important link in the defensive chain, and in my opinion he’s the best player for Germany alongside Mesut Özil. This is a game where the key player for France is the forward Griezmann while Germany’s key player is their goalkeeper, who I consider to be the best in the world.
