Today’s Fixtures – 20. June20th Jun 2016 |
Just as it was yesterday, we will only have two games today. Both are from group B and starts at 21:00. Wales will face Russia, while England will face Slovakia. These are two fixtures where the outcomes will have a huge effect on all the teams, as everyone except Russia can win the group and everyone except England (if we ignore one very theoretical possibility) can be knocked out.
Russia can’t in any way be happy with their performance against Slovakia, and they need a win. A draw won’t give them anything, but a win will send them to the round of 16. This means that they don’t have any other option but to finally show us some of their attacking qualities. We know that they have them, especially in Aleksandr Kokorin and Artem Dzyuba. For Wales, the most important thing is not to lose.
England-Slovakia. England has four points, Slovakia three. Slovakia’s approach will depend a lot on the reports from Russia-Wales. If Russia is winning, Slovakia can settle with a draw. If Wales is winning it doesn’t matter too much what Slovakia does, as they lost to Wales in the first round. England will go all in on a win in this game, as that will give them a huge advantage in the following fixtures.
