Today’s Fixtures – 26. June26th Jun 2016 |
We all hope for some more goals today than what we got yesterday, and everything we need to get it is in place. We are having three games with clear favourites, and all of their opponents is probably very happy just to have reached the round of 16.
The first one is France-Ireland. The advantage of France playing in front of their own supporters is of course big, but we will also see an Irish team who will be very motivated by the prospect of facing England in the quarter finals. The winner of this game will face Iceland or England in the quarter finals.
Of all the underdogs we see today, Slovakia might be the team which has the best potential. They are facing Germany, who are now the only team that has not conceived any goals in this tournament. That might be the case after this game as well. The winner of this game will face Italy or Spain.
Belgium ended up on the easier side of the tree of the knockout stages. They are facing Hungary, who is probably the biggest surprise of the group stages. They scored an average of two goals per game in the group stages. The winner will face Wales.
