UK Casinos Close as Lockdown Takes Place
As from March 20th, Britain’s measures have ramped up, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has ordered a number of businesses to close down.
Here are the 10 biggest casinos in the UK that have closed due to government orders.

  2. Les Croupiers Casino – Cardiff – Wales
  3. Park Lane Casino – Mayfair – London
  4. Genting International Casino – Birmingham
  5. Genting Club – Sheffield – South Yorkshire
  6. Genting Casino Fountain Park – Edinburgh
  7. Hippodrome Casino – London
  8. Rainbow Casino – Edgbaston – Birmingham
  9. Empire Casino – London
  10. Grosvenor Casino Leo – Liverpool

The full list of UK businesses affected :

  • Drinking establishments, including pubs, bars, nightclubs
  • Entertainment venues, including cinemas, theatres, concert halls, and bingo halls
  • Museums and galleries
  • Spas, wellness centres and massage parlours
  • Casinos and betting shops
  • Places of worship
  • All indoor leisure and sports facilities, including gyms

The full list of UK businesses that will not need to close are as follows:

  • Restaurants, cafes and work canteens – Only for food deliveries and takeaway service
  • Supermarkets and other premises selling food, including market stalls
  • Pharmacies
  •  Petrol Stations, garages and car rental businesses
  •  Bicycle shops
  • Home and hardware shops
  • Laundrettes and dry cleaners
  • Pet Shops
  • Corner shops, newsagents and post offices
  • Banks

In his speech, the Prime Minister of the UK, Boris Johnson has encouraged people to remain at home and not leave home unless:

✅ The need to shop for basic necessities such as food or medicine;
✅ To exercise, such as walk, run or cycle. This was encouraged to be done along and not in groups. In fact, parks will remain open for these purposes.
✅ Personal medical need or to provide care for a vulnerable person. This includes children under 18 between their parent’s homes; Key workers or those with children identified as vulnerable can continue to take their children to school.
✅ Travelling to and from work if cannot be done at home.

When Will Uk Casinos Reopen?

The Prime Minister of the UK added that these restrictions will be in place for at least three weeks and will be kept under continual review. Shops selling non-essential goods have been told to shut and gatherings in public which include more than two people who do not live together will not be allowed. The government has also stopped all social events, including weddings, baptisms, as well as other events. Community centres are allowed to remain open, only for the purpose of carrying out voluntary or public services such as food banks or service for homeless people.
