Yesterday’s match – Wales-Belgium

The Welsh fans were probably celebrating all night last night, and they had very good reason to. Not only are they ready for the semi-finals, but they have matched the record of rival England. In their first attempt since 1958, Wales has managed to equal England’ best result in nine attempts at the European Championship. Maybe we should go into serious discussion about which team is really Britain’s best?

It did not look too good after the first quarter though. Radja Nainggolan scored what might very well end up being the best goal of the Euros when he fired from 25 meters, giving us something else than his tattoo to talk about.

But after that, Wales was the best offensive team. Aaron Ramsey gave assists to Ashley Williams and Hal Robson-Kanu, but both of them had to make a great effort to score. Williams headed in a ball that was actually far too low to head, and Robson-Kanu had to show Brazilian skills to score the 2-1 goal. Close to the end of the game, Sam Vokes gave Belgium the final blow. To out of three goal scorers for Wales has been playing in the English Championship this season.

Wales will face Portugal in the semi-finals.
