Player Profile: Aaron Ramsey (Most assists during group stage)24th Jun 2016 |
|No of Euro games/goals:||16/5|
Aaron Ramsey was considered to be a one-of-a-kind wonderboy when he joined Arsenal in 2008. He showed great promise and gave a lot of hope to the fans of Wales and The Gunners during his first two seasons. But this development came to a quick and horrible halt in February 2010, when a tackle from Stoke’s Ryan Shawcross broke his leg in two. Since then he has become very important player for both Wales and Arsenal.
Because this is Wales’ first championship since the World Cup in 1958, Aaron Ramsey obviously has no experience from neither the World Cup or the European Championship. But he does have experience that few other players have, and that’s participation for Great Britain in the 2012 Olympics. Great Britain lost to South Korea in the quarter finals after a penalty shootout.
Wales is one of the great excitements of this championship. After winning their group they are facing Northern Ireland in the round of 16. If they win this game they will face the winner of Hungary-Belgium, and after that the winner will face either Switzerland, Poland, Croatia or Portugal in the Semi-Finals. The fixtures have been nice to Wales, so we can expect a surprise from them.
