Player Profile: Robbie Brady
Current Club:Norwich City
Position:Left back, left wing
No of Euro games/goals:3/1

Being one of only two players that has scored a goal for Ireland in this competition, Robbie Brady has secured himself an eternal status as an Irish footballing legend. His luck has not been that good over the last two seasons though. He has been relegated from the English Premier League two times in two seasons, with both Hull City and Norwich City.

We could see how much his goal against Italy meant to him. The very late goal was the one to send Ireland to the round of 16 from a very though group. It is not unlikely that this will be the happiest moment of his career, although he is still very young. Having earned caps only from Hull and Norwich in his club career, this championship is his debut in a major international competition.

As for his team’s chances, they are facing the home favourites France in the round of 16 on Sunday. France is a huge favourite for this game, but we should remember that Ireland has already defeated Germany in the qualifications. And there is more to it, as a victory might give them a quarter final game against their fiercest rivals: England. You can’t give Ireland a bigger motivation than that.
